Callum Hann – Masterchef All-stars Winner & Founder of Sprout Cooking School
Since becoming runner-up as 2010 Masterchef, Callum Hann has had his hands full!
He has spent his time working and learning in some of Australia’s best restaurants. He has also toured Australian universities teaching students how to cook and eat well. He loved teaching and saw huge potential in continuing on this path with a vision of inspiring people to cook.
In 2011 he started his own cooking school in Adelaide, Sprout, with dietitian Themis Chryssidis. Between Sprout classes he works with the Adelaide Produce Market community, the Thankyou™ food team and Channel 7’s SA Life. He was also fortunate to win $20,000 in 2012 for the Cancer Council by taking out the Masterchef Allstars title.
After fulfilling a lifelong dream of writing his first cookbook: The Starter Kitchen, he has gone on to publish a second book, I’d Eat That! in 2014.
At the end of 2014, Callum and the Sprout team built their new state of the art cooking school on Sir Donald Bradman Drive in Adelaide, which continues to grow.
Callum’s philosophy is that food should be simple, seasonal and fresh.
“I had a great time speaking at the Sol Results breakfast, the team were professional, organised and made my role easy. I enjoyed having the opportunity to listen to the other talks as well!”
