72 – Message of the week: Know & Understand Thyself

BY STAN KONTOS

This week I’d like to share with you the importance of investing sufficient time each week studying and working on ourselves.

Every human being (including you and I) have weaknesses which need to be worked on with the view to overcoming them, as well as strengths which need to be further developed into a gift and given liberally to our workplaces, family and our friends.

Let’s begin with weaknesses. These are revealed when we feel or express negative, unresourceful emotions:

  • Anger – at someone or something
  • Sadness – depression and feeling low (other than grief from loss)
  • Hurt – especially troublesome if it happens regularly because someone said something, or did not say something
  • Guilt – the inability to process self forgiveness from mistakes
  • Fear – also manifested as angst, anxiety and feeling stressed

We all have weaknesses and if we want to achieve all our inspired goals in life, we need to work on and eventually eliminate weaknesses. Weakness resides deep inside our heart and reveal themselves by coming to the surface of our mind as thoughts and unresourceful emotions. One of the personal prayers I say (almost) daily is “God reveal my weaknesses, cleanse my heart and mind, and renew a right spirit within me”. When I say this, it is incredible how a thought comes to the surface of my mind revealing to me what it is I need to work upon. As we grow each week by working on and overcoming weakness, we attain more inner peace and tap into more inner wisdom. This inner wisdom helps us make better decisions and brings clearer foresight in life, business, and career. We become more effective and are able to add more value to others both personally and professionally.

Every human being on earth has weaknesses to work upon and overcome. It is this realisation that keeps a person grounded.  Happy people know that happiness comes from constant personal and spiritual progress, that no human being is perfect and the secret to living is in giving.

Now let’s go onto strengths. We all can get better at almost anything if we have the right teacher (coach, mentor, business partner, boss, or friend) in our life. When we learn how to do something from the right source and practice, practice, practice we get pretty good. Repetition is the mother of skill. This is how we get to higher and higher performance levels in sports, relationships, and in our chosen career, or business path. However, there are also strengths which we are born with and need nurturing. I call these gifts that we are born with and need to be developed and shared with the people in our world. For some of us it is in the arts like music, painting, drawing or dancing. It may be linked to leadership such as speaking, teaching, influencing or it may be other forms of creativity like entrepreneurship, writing, gardening or even cooking. There are many gifts we are each born with, that we discover during our life journey. These gifts need time and effort to develop, you know they are gifts because they come naturally. These gifts grow in skill-set very quickly and they have a noticeable positive effect on those around us.

This next week I encourage you to work on at least one weakness and acknowledge at least one strength that you will put effort into growing.

The more you know and understand thyself, the more you will begin to realise that you were put on earth for a reason and that there is a life journey that is unique just for you!

We are all interconnected and are there to serve one another with our gifts.

Live with passion, stay on your life purpose, and always be at peace.

71 – Setting in Great Habits from the Great Reset

BY STAN KONTOS

For those of us in Australia, we are beginning to see the gradual staged return of activity in our society, like the resumption of work in offices, for example.

During the lockdown period, I am sure we all experienced benefits that we would like to keep in our life going forward. For some of us it may be the games night and the extra movies we watched together with our family, or the extra effort we put into making our meals a tastier experience, or the sitting down talking without rushing, or the extra daily walks in the parklands, or the greeting of our neighbours, or the extra reading we enjoyed, or the profound meditation or prayer we engaged in, or the extra time we spent with our pets, or value of technology in communicating with others, or whatever else you noticed that was simple yet valuable.

Whatever benefit we have received during this lockdown experience, I encourage you to write it down and ensure you look at it everyday as a reminder of what new habits are now important in your life. Let’s not fall into old habits which may not be resourceful anymore, rather take those new world habits you discovered with you as you gradually resume your old world. If you do not have a way to preserve these new world learnings then they will become a distant memory and this personal growth experience will not have as much impact.

Every cloud has a silver lining, so decide right at this moment what it is you now value in your life, what is really important, and make it your very own new habit. Your life is a series of habits and I hope one day we can all reflect gracefully from a position of old age that we saw the good in every experience and kept incorporating the best habits as we discovered them, such that our life was gradually constructed like a work of fine art, go forth and continue to make your life a masterpiece.

Live with passion, stay on your life purpose, and always be at peace.

70 – Behold, I will do new things

BY STAN KONTOS

I hope this Words of Inspiration finds you excited about the gradual increase in freedoms that are coming our way here in Adelaide and across Australia. Things we took for granted we will once again begin to enjoy although this time I am sure with greater levels of appreciation, I will certainly be very grateful for a restaurant meal, going to the gym and eventually a musical concert.

What new things will you do? What have you been inspired about the last couple of months, to be, do, or have in life? We have all had a lot of extra time to think, plan, reflect and come up with aspirations, goals and elements we will change in our life. This is the ideal time in life to think about the wisdom, “Behold, I will do new things!” I certainly have made some incredible advances in my thinking and realised the power of thinking, the power of meditation and the power of prayer in taking our lives to another level. If you are interested, join in to the SOL Results Spiritual Wisdom Live Event “Finding and Keeping Inner Peace in Uncertain Times” with myself and Manuel Karkafiris. The Event is Free and will be held on Wednesday 13th May at 7:00pm, click here to register.

I am excited about spending some time in a warm place like Darwin or Broome during our winter period, I usually go overseas for part of winter each year, however, this year I look forward to enjoying warm parts of my homeland here in Australia.

I am excited about the opportunities in investments, business, property and sharemarket, for example, as we come out of the COVID-19 period and all the opportunities it will present. I am excited about all the new quality meals we have been cooking at home and will continue to do so moving forward (yes, we will also go out from time to time to enjoy the cafe scene).

I am excited about where online meetings will fit in well, as much as I prefer in person meetings with people, I can also see great benefit with online meetings in certain circumstances which I didn’t realise before. I am excited about finding ways to be less busy, at times I was operating at a frantic pace, and create more time to think, plan and act, to be more strategic. To do more of the things that make a huge difference to myself, my family and other people.

So, how will you change and take on a new way of living as we become more liberated?

Here are some questions to help you:

  1. What will I STOP doing?
  2. What will I START doing?
  3. What will I do LESS of?
  4. What will I do MORE of?

These four questions will give you the gift of discovering all you need from the COVID-19 lockdown period. Write them down and action them.

These are the new things for you!

Live with passion, stay on your life purpose, and always be at peace.

69 – Are you ready to be flexible in your thinking?

BY STAN KONTOS

So, as we come out of COVID-19 lock down in the near future, how will you keep your mind free of unnecessary self imposed limited patterns developed these last few weeks? Will you continue to live with anxiety and rigidity like an inflexible statue, or will you be a flexible thinker adapting joyously to the freedoms our medical authorities encourage us to partake once again?

I know that I certainly will have greater gratitude for all the freedoms I once took for granted as they become available. As restrictions become lifted in the near future, observe your behaviour and the behaviour of others. At some point in time, when our government and medical authorities let us know that all is in good order and they support our change in behaviour, you will need to make a decision to be internally free from any thoughts of the past so that you can enjoy hugging a friend, enjoying a restaurant meal and shaking a hand. Of course I am sure our hygiene levels will stay at a higher level than before, for example, washing our hands regularly, and that is definitely a good thing.

The key to success in life is learning to master your mind and not let old patterns master you. Flexibility is a key attribute of all successful human beings. The rigid will eventually break down whereas the flexible will survive and thrive. Become a flexible thinker able to master your thoughts with the changing environment and not fall into the trap of an inflexible statue.

Look forward to a reinstatement of freedoms as they are in the not too distant horizon. Look forward to the simple joys in life. Look forward to being yourself.

Live with passion, stay on your life purpose, and always be at peace.

68 – The One Thing, Everything

BY STAN KONTOS

The One Thing, Everything

Questions are the Answer

Live in Peace and Joy

I have always believed in a “one thing, everything” life statement. It is like a compass in life. For many, this is referred to as a “Purpose Statement”, the purpose of one’s life, or it could be called “One’s Destiny”, the direction of one’s life and ultimate arrival.

If we do not have a compass to guide us, how will we know why we are on Earth and where we are heading? One of the greatest benefits, and there are many, of the current Covid-19 living restrictions, is we have more time to reflect on questions like:

“Who am I?”

“Why am I here?”

“How can I add value?”

“Who will I ultimately become?”

“What does the Creator of the Universe want for me?”

Some other questions which can assist you to arrive at a purpose statement include, “What would I do if I knew I could not fail?” and, “If time and money were not an issue, what would I be doing with my life?”

This period of life is an excellent time in the history of humanity to reactivate the art of thinking. Thinking is the process of asking and answering questions. What you think about most of the time will be where your life moves toward and where you end up. I encourage you to invest some time in the art of thinking and discover what is the purpose of your life and who you will become.

Here is a hint, as I have done this exercise with clients hundreds of times… everyone’s life purpose is always about discovering one’s gift and then giving their gift to others and to the world.

Discover and give, and you will live in peace and joy all the days of your life.

Live with passion, stay on your life purpose, and always be at peace.
