22 – Great Leadership is thinking outside the Square & Understanding Life Patterns

BY STAN KONTOS

The journey of life has patterns that are as true today as they were thousands of years ago. One of the patterns that separates the leaders from the followers is the pattern of disruptive thinking. Disruptive thinking can have bad outcomes or it can have inspiring outcomes. I will of course talk about disruptive thinking in the context of taking your life to the next level –creating your  inspirational outcomes.

Here is the pattern that all disruptive thinkers need to go through – it is not avoidable and can be easily linked to great business disruptors, great invention disruptors, and even great political disruptors. It follows essentially 3 stages:

RIDICULE

  • 1st stage is they (many others) condemn and criticise you . These are some of the belief systems you will hear them say …“You’ll never be able to do that”  “Stop dreaming and get real”  “You are going to fail”

RESISTANCE

  • 2nd stage is they (others) resist you even after you have done or achieved what you declared  – this stage is a little more passive aggressive but it is clearly evident – those you thought might help you, do not back you

ACCEPTANCE

  • 3rd stage is they (many others) begin to accept you and even start to compliment you or apologise for their misconception.

Great leadership is never about conforming but about disrupting the norm and creating a new pathway which is better than the one before for you, for others and FOR the greater good. We call this ecological leadership and in summary creates a new good for :

YOU , and

OTHERS, and

THE GREATER GOOD  (the community, mankind, universal, or God)

So, the great leaders in history in any area of life have been disruptors and have been ecological hence I call them “ecological disruptors”. Some that come to mind include Nelson Mandella, Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, Abraham Lincoln, and so forth.

We individually can apply the same thinking process in our work environment, in our businesses, in our communities, and in our homes. We all have this amazing capacity to be ecological disruptors.

So I ask you the question – what are you passionate about and what could you devote your life or a large part of your life to , to create a better more beautiful world for everyone around you?  Do you want to harness the power that great world leaders have harnessed and so make your own world better than it has been before? Did you know that happier people are people with great purpose and a sense of mission in their life?

Many coaching clients on our Platinum Program discover the special gift that is in everyone one of us. Learn to think differently and in doing so realise that resistance is a normal part of the process. Just like a cocoon eventually explodes and transforms into a butterfly through fighting resistance, so you too will need to persist…with persistence you will win.  It is all about your mindset and the ability to access your own spiritual power that is in you and in all of us.

One of the many ways we can continue to inspire ourselves is to ensure we regularly hang out with others who have the “can do” mindset necessary to succeed in the endeavour you want to succeed in. And hence why attending events where you too can inspire yourself is so critical – events like our monthly business breakfast.

And one final note on resistance – which groups of people will resist you? It is important to realise that there will be resistance in 3 key areas of your life and here they are :

  1. Intimate resistance – this is someone you are very close to
  2. Internal resistance – you will have fear or doubtful thoughts appearing (limiting beliefs),  and
  3. External resistance – someone outside your normal circle

I encourage you to learn the above key life patterns that show up when you want to embark on a transformational journey and once you understand that this is all a normal part of personal and professional growth, then you can go forth in faith knowing what you will be up against and if you persist, you will win!

With best wishes as you lead your life of purpose, passion and always stay at peace.

21 – How are your passive investments going?

BY STAN KONTOS

I remember in my 20’s thinking that my hourly rate at work for my employer was the most important thing that could make me financially secure. Of course my hourly rate is important however it is nowhere near as important as the skillset to create passive income. The hourly rate gives one immediate gratification in the form of a regular fortnightly pay-check and it is easy to do – you put in the hours and you get paid. The concept of creating passive income streams requires lots of time dedicated to education, surrounding yourself with the right people, putting up with at times investment losses as part of the learning process, and all the uncertainties associated with a new way of thinking that not many people adopt. However like anything, once one attains education + action then it becomes a lifelong gift.

Do you sincerely wish you had an extra $1,000 or $2,000 or even $10,000 per week from passive income sources that were created by only 1-3 hours per week of activity?  I know this may sound a little “unrealistic” – I can assure you everything I write in my monthly email is from experience of either myself or the people I choose to associate with and learn from. The greatest gift to our life is to enjoy our time on Earth and having passive income sources provides more choices in our western developed world.

On Wednesday October 26th I will be providing an evening of education to our Breakfast at The Next Level Members (and Platinum Partners on the coaching program) on “Financial Freedom – Creating Passive Income Streams” and the key areas I will be covering are (i) Mindset development (ii) Areas available to create passive incomes (iii) The step by step approach one will need to create this as their reality.  Let me share with you a little about the mindset development required before you embark on creating passive income streams ….

  • One needs to have empowering belief systems (these are the positive thoughts that automatically come out of our subconscious mind) which allow you permission to create these passive income sources. Once cannot create passive income if the thoughts in their head area long the lines “It’s too hard”, “I’ve tried it before and it doesn’t work”, “That’s easy for you to say”, “I am not good enough or smart enough”, “I don’t have the time to devote to study”, “If everyone did this then no one would work”, “I don’t have the money to get educated”, “I don’t really care much about money” and so forth. These thoughts need to be eradicated from your consciousness (we show you how to do this at our annual The Next Level retreat and in our Platinum Program). Once these limiting (disempowering) beliefs are removed we then need to insert empowering (positive) beliefs such as “I can do this”, “I will create the time to do this”, “I always find the money to learn more”, “I will have the contacts and networks to assist me”, “I will become one of the few who take action and reap the rewards”, “I enjoy making a great passive income from no more than 3 hours per week”,  and so forth.
  • Visualise how your life will be when you have that passive income coming into your account – that’s right see your bank account with a deposit every week or month, see yourself driving the car that you deserve, see yourself living in the home of your dreams, see yourself sending your children to great schools and enjoying vacation with them in beautiful locations around the world, see your life partner happy and at peace, see yourself have the ability to help family, friends, and charity. When you visualise this way, you will become enthused, excited and joyful of the prospect coming that you will live abundantly.
  • Help alter your peers mindset to one of abundance and bring in additional peers that think abundantly. It is so important to ensure that the people in your daily environment begin to think like you and support your thoughts. Thoughts are seeds for the future – the law of sow and reap is always in action so ensure you are planting and nurturing the right seeds each and every day. There is absolutely no benefit thinking about lack and limitation. Make a decision to only think of abundance and plenty of provision today and this is where your life will gravitate to.
  • Write in your journal what is good in your life each day – an attitude of gratitude will bring more good into your life including passive income. Notice what good is happening and more will begin to happen. Like attracts like – good attracts good – abundance attracts more abundance. This is the law of life so follow the laws.

Remember that every investment vehicle be it business, real estate (residential, commercial, industrial, office) and sharemarket strategy (trading, value investing, growth investing, and others) have a system that follows the same path to success – high education levels (money will always transfer from the least educated to the more educated), peer/network development, and actions with accountability.  There is minimal risk when you know how, however it is up to you to seek….for the seekers will always find and the finders become the custodians of wealth in our society.

I wish you the very best – may you always be passionate, purposeful, and always at peace.

20 – Challenges are there to make us Grow

BY STAN KONTOS

It is interesting that when one learns to motivate themselves, then people automatically assume, (because they seem always happy), that  they have no issues in life or business.

I have personally made a decision to motivate myself and keep myself inspired every day because it allows me to enjoy life and business more and I can handle the challenges that pop up and get over life’s hurdles a quicker. People sometimes get the impression I do not have challenges in life. However, the truth is the more success that one creates in life, the bigger the challenges become. And the bigger the challenge, the bigger one has to become to rise above them. Challenges are simply there to make us grow.
It would be easy if we could grow when we are nice & comfortable or when everything is going well. However that is not the reality. If we reflect on the past, the times of greatest growth are the times of the greatest personal pain, heaviest challenge, and most extreme circumstance. It is during the times of greatest uncertainty that the highest level of personal and professional growth is achieved, provided of course one keeps their emotions in check, their thoughts productive, and there is a support system in place.

A support system needs to be internal (your spiritual God support whereby you access peace during times of crisis) and external (friends and family who will give you a helping hand and good advice). If you have both of these developed, you will get through the experience and gain the greatest growth. If you have only one (most people have external but not internal support mechanisms) then your growth will be less expansive.

Whilst I do not like massive challenges, I know when they occur it is a bit like a wild ride – hold on, get the internal system working well, engage the external support system, and then keep going in hope of things turning around for the better.  This approach has always yielded me a most enlightened outlook at the conclusion and allows me to look back with peace and satisfaction, knowing I did the best I could and learnt a lot from the process.

I wish you always the best of good fortune with any challenges that come your way – be it financial, health, relationship or emotional. And if there is any way we at SOL Results can be of help to you, please do contact us.

Live with passion, purpose and always be at peace.

19 – Keep Believing

BY STAN KONTOS

In July I had the privilege of enjoying a bit of “island hopping” around Greece. Yes it was one of those “bucket list” experiences I always had wanted to do and boy oh boy it was fantastic!  So don’t listen to all that media hype around the Greek financial crisis – the world of the Greek islands is full of abundance – amazing boutique hotels and apartments, beautiful (and very inexpensive) food, great hospitality, beautiful clean beaches, and an amazing night life. I honestly could have stayed there for 6 months!

You see, what is so special about the Greek people (and yes I come from a Greek background) is that they keep believing. No matter what happens, they believe that life is to be enjoyed, they believe in doing good to others (the Greek words of “filotimo” and “kalosini” mean goodwill to all), and they believe that no matter what happens you can always find a way to be happy as long as you have your family and friends.

So it also goes with every challenge you are facing in your life today. You must keep believing that somehow things will get better and there is an answer. In order to gain resolution, it is important to keep asking the right questions, to keep seeking answers, and to keep knocking on doors because somehow, somewhere, someone will help you. Every challenge we have ever risen over has always involved the help of other people – rising over the challenges in life is the same as achieving goals – you need to keep believing (even when it appears tough), you need to ask others to help you, and you need to keep looking for solutions.

Our mind is an incredible device – when you seek a solution, it searches madly to find it for you. Don’t keep your focus on the problem as this will cause it to keep getting bigger and bigger, rather put in most of your energy (say at least 90%) into possible solutions. You will be more inspired when you do this and you will find a way to do what you want to achieve or solve.

The power of self-belief and persistence has been around for thousands of years and is a proven law of life in the creation of the result your heart desires and deserves. Having people in your environment (such as a performance coach) can make a huge difference in keeping your mindset operating in the right direction. Always speak to people who will inspire you, who will encourage you, and who will strengthen your self-belief (and hence avoid people who bring you down or are negative in nature).

For those of you who want to hear from someone with amazing strong belief, come along to Breakfast at The Next Level where you can hear how Kate Thiele has done some amazing work with The Guide Dogs Assoc in taking it to much higher income levels and in turn making a huge difference to society.

Live with passion, purpose and always be at peace.

18 – Your Health Is Your Wealth

BY STAN KONTOS

I often run into people much younger than me (I am 50 years young) and cannot understand why they do not take good care of their body.

We all have only one body to experience life in and it makes good sense to do the best you can to keep it fit, healthy, and looked after. We are so very fortunate to have so many health professionals in our amazing Australian way of life who can assist us to optimise the life experience. Do you have a structured health team?  A health team is a group of people that keep you in the best shape you can possibly be.

If we study the Hunza population (located in the Himalaya’s) they live to an average age of 135, fully functional. Men in their 90’s commonly still father children, work full time and keep up with men in their 20’s. Doesn’t this sound amazing? I believe we are unfortunately not sufficiently educated in our present way of live about what our amazing minds and bodies can do.  We accept what we are told is the norm – once you reach the age of 80, you are sick and close to the end. This is considered a good result!  Well the Hunza’s would be shocked if we told them we thought 80 was a good age when they are living way past 100 with fully functional bodies and minds.

So whilst I am not saying what age we can all live to, I am saying that we can all do our bit to improve the quality of our life. Here is my top 11 of “musts” if you want to improve both quality and hopefully quantity of life:

  1. Exercise daily for at least 45mins
  2. Eat organically – keep away as much as you can from GMO foods, pesticides, and anything artificial
  3. Eat more vegetables and fruit and  if you eat meat, eat it sparingly (aim for 1-2 times a week)
  4. Meditate daily for at least 20 minutes
  5. Sleep well
  6. Drink at least 2 litres of water daily
  7. Develop a positive mindset (some coaching in our Platinum program will assist here)
  8. Develop a more open heart
  9. Develop a health team and create a yearly health schedule
  10. Network with people who are passionate about health as it will rub off onto you
  11. Know your BMI and other measures of ideal weight and waist circumference and aim to achieve them
  12. Study and apply the principles of anti-aging medicine if you are over 40 – this will enhance the way you feel and the length of your life.

We all take such great care of our cars – attend to services, change tyres, change batteries, wash them each week (or less regularly for some of us!).  So shouldn’t we take even better care of our body?  Our body is a vehicle for us to experience life so let’s all aim to maximise this vehicle and enjoy our time on Earth!

I wish you the best of health and happiness.

Why not come along to the Breakfast at the Next Level on Wednesday 3rd August. I, along with SOL Results Master Coach, John Ngatia, will share our secrets to improving your business performance and personal productivity.

17 – The Process of Stretching and Growing – Signs of a Passionate Life

BY STAN KONTOS

Today I caught up with some friends and one of them commented, “Yeah life is good. I am in a comfortable stage and don’t do too much. I enjoy spending time at home on the weekend.”

While I understand this may appeal to some, I take every opportunity to challenge and develop myself. Belief systems create your life. If you believe that it is good to stay in your comfort zone and resist growth, then your mind and body will not progress. You see my friends, growth is an essential part of life. Now I know we all like to take a little break from time to time and hibernate in comfort (yes I do too). This is good and helps us to feel refreshed. We must, however, exit this state at some stage and get back into living life and growing ourselves to the next level. The destiny of our soul is linked to us growing as spiritual beings.

So what have you done lately that has really stretched you and enabled you to grow? What uncertainty were you able to handle that has now changed you forever? Have you challenged yourself to be a better friend, employee, employer or partner?  Have you expanded your skillset in wealth creation and learnt a new technique for creating money and put it into action? What have you done with optimising your fitness – what challenge did you put your body through that was exhilarating and endorphin releasing?  If you find that you have not experienced growth in a long time, then you should immerse yourself in the company of someone different – someone who will challenge you to stretch and grow (perhaps consider a SOL Results coach). You may have heard the wisdom, “You become like those you associate with.” Is it time to implement these wisdoms into your life and create a more exciting future for you and everyone who looks up to you?

Growth can be difficult, but it is permanently rewarding. The achievement of a stretch goal is not just about the goal itself – it is about who you become. I believe each of us has an inner potential that when activated, can create incredible results. I remember a quote that really got me thinking: “Most people die with the music still in them.” This means that while people have the potential for personal and professional growth, not all reach it.

The rocking chair test is the ultimate assessment (for those of you that were at the last Breakfast at the Next Level, our amazing guest, Henry Olonga, mentioned that it was the rocking chair test that motivated him to step up as a leader and inform the world about what was occurring in Zimbabwe).

This test involves you imagining yourself at an old age and reflecting on your decisions in life. The decisions you make today will either make your life a masterpiece to be followed or a warning of what not to do. It is always your choice!

I would like to encourage you to make your life a masterpiece by making good choices today. Make choices that will help you stretch and grow into a better person. By this I mean a person who is fulfilled at the end of their life because they gave it their all. So enjoy creating your own great legacy.

Live life with passion, purpose and stay at peace.

16 – Enjoy the journey of life

BY STAN KONTOS

Oftentimes, people tend to get so busy and consumed with things that don’t have a lot of meaning in the long run. It’s easy to become consumed by your career, or your business, and in doing so stay focussed on your goals. It’s good to work hard (I’m an advocate of what you put in, you get out in return) but it’s also good to play hard too. This helps you stay balanced.

I heard someone say “It’s not that life is too short, it’s that we wait so long to start living”.  If we want to truly enjoy the journey of life, we have to take time to stop and smell the roses.  Do you appreciate the people you love?  Do you hug your kids and give your life partner a kiss before you leave for work each day?  When was the last time you called your parents to tell thank them for all the sacrifices they made whilst they were bringing you up? When was the last time you sat on the beach and appreciated nature? And how about the last time you invited friends over and threw a party?  That’s how we can enjoy the journey.

If you enjoy the journey of life, you’ll live with no regrets. I often talk about the “rocking chair test” – when you are old and in your rocking chair, what will you say to yourself? Will you say “yes my life is an example!?” Or will you say “Oh dear my life was a warning!?”  I’d like to hear you say to yourself “I made the most of my life. I enjoyed my family. I enjoyed my friends. I finished my course with joy.”

I encourage people to say appreciative affirmations every day. So how about affirming this to yourself twice a day: “Thank you for all the great people in my life. Thank you for the enjoyment of family and friends. Thank you for the enjoyment of the journey of life.”

I look forward to meeting you at our next Breakfast at the Next Level event with guest speaker Henry Olonga.

Each month we know you will go to the next level in life.

15 – Know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free

BY STAN KONTOS

Over the years, I have always endeavoured to work things out by learning from others then reflecting/thinking and innovating to work out a way to do it faster, better, more productively, whilst still enjoy the important things in life that we all treasure (friendships, relaxation, travel, family, and hobbies).

Throughout the many experiences of life that we all go through, there is one thing I am certain of and it is this: we are all on a spiritual journey whether we realise it or not. That’s right – all of us are growing, changing, discovering, as we travel on our unique path of discovering both who we are (identity) and what we are here (purpose) for personal enlightenment. So what is this enlightenment?  Enlightenment is simply understanding or awareness. Whilst it is a totally different pathway for each of us, there are certain characteristics which are universal – the attainment of happiness, peace, and the expression of enjoyable emotions such as gratitude and love are all a part of this enlightenment process.

As we all travel on the pathway to self-actualisation, we all find vehicles that assist us. Sometimes we refer them to spiritual practices (such as yoga) and other times we refer them to religions (such as Buddhism, Christianity and Islam).  Having studied many many practices and religions over many decades, my discovery (and science is now acknowledging) that this world is not a series of coincidences but a creation by a higher power or a divine spiritual being  which I and many of us call God. The one key thing about this amazing divine spiritual being is that it is love – every time we experience love we are connecting with the power that is the creator of life. Now I don’t mean infatuation as that is a totally different chemical process (linked to Oxytocin release in the brain amongst other things) – rather love is a selfless expression of kindness and joy toward mankind, animals, and our Earth.

I know we have all experienced this “connection” with the “higher power” at times for we all remember periods of incredible peace, amazing love, and unexplainable bliss. And after we experience it, we begin to wonder how we can experience that again – it may have come whilst doing a selfless act of kindness toward someone, or while we were riding a bicycle through the hills, or whilst we were nodding off on the beach or straight after a love making session with our life partner, or during a meditation or of course the most common way after discovering how to pray.

But whatever it was that caused it, we become intrigued into how we can enter that “special place” again.

My encouragement in this month’s words of inspiration is for you to keep seeking this place of inner peace, love and bliss and I am sure inevitably you will find. But don’t seek with a closed mind as you will never encounter this divine spirit this way. It is like wanting to create wealth through property but not wanting to go to a property course because it costs too much or not finding a mentor because you don’t have the time or not entering the market because you’re scared that interest rates may rise – all these are excuses and will never help you attain your goal.

So it is with your discovery of understanding or awareness. Never discount asking someone who has discovered this enlightenment how they did it, never discount the power of seeking the truth.

Once you develop your pathway to awareness and are able to enter it at will (I can enter my special place at will within a few minutes of prayer), you will discover a new perspective on everything – that there is a divine spiritual being that loves you unconditionally and that wants the very best for you always. And every time you stay in contact with this state of inner love, happiness and bliss, that things seem to go better, life is more intensely enjoyable, and that you can handle the challenges of life much better.

When you see a person who is happy, who is kind, and who seems to always be doing good to others, that is your key indicator that that person has discovered something special – perhaps ask him or her why they are so positive and you will discover that they have found a way to inner spiritual development that has now given them the inner strength to improve their outer circumstances. It is not the outer circumstances that have made them happy but rather their inner world has been discovered which then has improved their outer circumstances of life.

Education with inspiration is also an important part of our spiritual development hence I encourage you to come along to Breakfast at the Next Level .Our next breakfast is on May 4th where I will be talking with Jeremy Cordeaux on success and happiness. We always aim to bring you the very best in knowledge, inspiration and networking. Click here to secure your seat.

Go forth and work on discovering your inner world as with this higher power, your outer world improves.

You’ll find all long term successful people have peace, happiness, growth, gratitude, and contribution as their key drivers in life.

14 – Get Inspired!

BY STAN KONTOS

Have you ever sat down and documented exactly what inspires you?

Many years ago I began documenting what it is that makes me feel inspired (I define it as being “in spirit” –  that joyful inner feeling that we all get…some people call it “being in my element” or “being in the flow”). Many activities that bring on this amazing feeling are the same for all of us (such as being in love or being grateful) and there are many activities and thought processes of course that are unique to each one of us.

Activities that inspire me include the fact that I absolutely love the beach and hearing the crashing waves,  driving through the hills in my sports car, reading a good biography, listening to certain musicians, listening and meditating on a particular pastor’s sermon, and spending time with particular people who I seem to resonate with.

It is important to know the many things that inspire you. For once you know them, you can then make the time to bring them into your life purposefully. The ultimate goal of course is to aim to be 80% of the time (or more of course) inspired!  Too many of us get caught up working for a living instead of ‘designing a life’. The ‘life of design’ should include as many inspirational activities as is possible to bring into your day.

When you are inspired you will:

  • Handle issues (challenges) more effectively
  • Be happier (others will notice the glow coming out of your eyes)
  • Create greater opportunities in your business/career, life and in the lives of others

We all set so many goals each year – to make more money, to advance our career, to lose weight, to improve our relationship, to holiday….However, did you know that the one key goal to achieve a high level of inspiration will itself help you bring into fruition every one of your goals and dreams?

Many people comment that they have attended the Breakfast at the Next Level because it re-ignites their inspiration and that is true for that is one of the breakfast event’s purposes. So what are you doing today to get yourself inspired and fired up to really enjoy the gift of life that you have been given?  Perhaps begin today and notice every time you feel an amazing sense of joy inside – document it and before long you will know 10+ activities that inspire you. Then  begin bringing as many of these activities as you can into your life daily. You will notice a new level of youthfulness and energy will come over you. You will have less issues. You will attract greater opportunities in every area of your life.

Let me know at the next breakfast event on the 6th of April 2016 how you are going as I’d be only too happy to provide you with any advice into how to take your inspiration strategy to another level.

13 – Who’s on your team?

BY STAN KONTOS

I am fortunate in that many years ago I realised that the most important thing in life apart from having a faith in God is the importance of relationships. You see everything we achieve in life is the result of the assistance by other people – I often quote the wisdom from the late Dr Wayne Dyer “You alone can do it but you cannot do it alone”.

The word TEAM (together everyone achieves more) can be interchanged with “mastermind”, or “board”, or “mentors”. You see, people help you see what you cannot see – they are like a side mirror making you aware of your “blind spots” as you drive in the journey of life and in your career/business. The great ancient wisdom “without counsel purposes are disappointed, but in the multitude of counsellors they are established” tells us that even from the BC days, the importance of having a team to support you in life and in your work was paramount.

So, no matter what goals you want to achieve this year in the various areas of life, who is on your team to assist you?  Who will keep you accountable, who will stimulate ideas, and who will help you solve issues quickly so you can keep moving forward?

We all must take great care of our team for it takes many years to build trust and a close relationship and yet only one silly behaviour (greed, envy, criticism, deceit)  can bring the relationship toward ruin. Always think of your team – know when it is their birthday, stay in touch regularly with them and see how they are, and of course always send positive thoughts to them wishing them prosperity and good health.

Much of your wealth is linked to the quality of your team – if you have a good team, you will notice as the years go by that you will be much better off than if you had been alone. The thoughts and behaviours of our team “rub off” onto us and soon we begin to adapt the empowering ways of our team so we become better. And likewise do not introduce people into your team that have poor habits like bad language, poor attitudes, and negativity.

I encourage you today to begin developing your team – learn to give without the need to receive. Selfless giving is the cornerstone to creating great relationships and the law of life always brings this goodness back to you 10 fold or more. Buy your team coffees, have them over for lunch, take them out socially, and think of gifts that would brighten their day. Everybody loves a giver so choose to be giving and not taking.

As the years go by see what happens to your environment and what amazing people you begin to attract into your life. These people are the foundation of your future good fortune.

If you would like one of us to be part of your team in the form of a coach (we take on clients for 12 months at a time), please contact us by going to http://www.solresultscoaching.com/  We would love to be a part of your team this year.
