Welcome the Month of May, when we catch up with Anthony Paech Managing Director of Beerenberg Farm.
Anthony Paech is the eldest of the three sixth generation siblings that currently run the, wholly family owned, Beerenberg Farm. Anthony grew up living on the family farm on the outskirts of Hahndorf, South Australia.
In 1971 Grant Paech, Anthony’s father, added to the family farming business and began the Beerenberg product range, selling strawberry jam from roadside stalls and markets.
After studying in Western Australia and completing an MBA, Anthony returned to South Australia to work in the family business. Anthony worked in many roles in the business to ensure he had the necessary experience and knowledge when he took over day to day running of the company from his father in 1998. As Managing Director, Anthony has devoted his time to building the Beerenberg brand within Australia and internationally.
Today, Beerenberg is an iconic Australian brand and much loved by consumers at home and overseas.
The Beerenberg product range now includes marinades, jams, marmalades, chutneys, sauces, pickles, dressings, olive oil and meal bases – all produced with high quality and exceptional flavour in mind. Beerenberg products are sold, across Australia, in key Asian markets and from late 2017 in the USA. Beerenberg’s food service products can be found in over 300 hotels worldwide and on major airlines. Anthony manages the export customer relationships personally and works hard to ensure the export market revenue (a legacy from his father) remains a solid contributor to the business.
In mid-2018 Anthony was very proud to welcome the Governor of South Australia to officially open the new multi-million-dollar, state-of-the art factory and office building. This project driven and led by Anthony was six years in the making, it will provide room for future expansion and the continued growth of the Beerenberg Farm business.
Anthony sits on the Board of Food South Australia, and in 2018 became a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Anthony and Beerenberg’s success has been acknowledged with multiple food and business awards and industry accolades.
