Over the years, I have coached and mentored hundreds of people from all walks of life, different types of businesses, and professions. And one thing I have learnt is there are patterns of behavior we can easily fall into due to our environmental influence. One of the things we need to be careful of living in a Western lifestyle is hurry disease, the need to keep doing things efficiently and over working ourselves.

If you ever get the chance to visit Ikaria, a Greek Island renowned for having some of the longest living people in the world, you will soon discover that stress is minimal. People sleep in until late morning, the shops don’t open until 12 noon! You catch up with friends every afternoon for a chin wag and a glass of wine, and you always get a siesta every afternoon (usually 30-90 minutes).

What a contrast to the stress levels we endure in Western civilised society – at least 1/3 of adults do not sleep well, have to drive through traffic, hurry to get to meetings on time, gobble down our lunch, fight our circadian rhythms to stay awake with a coffee in the afternoon so we do not fall asleep at our desk and push through the day so we can get home and get onto our laptops only to do more work!

It is time to set aside time for yourself, time to reflect, meditate and bring more peace into your life. I encourage you to begin thinking about how you can incorporate a little of the “Ikarian life” into your life here in your Western world. Perhaps you can take 15 to 30 minutes out each day to meditate, or schedule half a day each week to review your goals and aspirations and ensure you are on track, or develop a regular group of friends to enjoy human interactions outside of your business/work (a walking group, a tennis group, a cycling group, and so forth).

Let this year be the year you bring more balance into your life and realise that a long, healthy life needs the foundation of peace, rest, reflection and human interaction at a deeper level.

If you would like further information about Balance of Life strategies, please enquire with one of our staff members at SOL Results on (08) 8362 3111 about our Platinum Program.

Live with passion , purpose and of course always aim to be at peace.

Happy New Year!

With the new year, it is an opportune time to revisit the importance of belief and faith. You see faith is a belief in something you cannot see (yet). And the law of life is such that what you believe in your heart and mind, you will gravitate towards achieving. So it goes without doubt that the most important thing in achieving any goal is to believe it. Most people will not set a big goal because they do not believe they will be able to achieve it and/or believe they will fail so they do not bother.

Here is a challenge for you… why not set a goal to develop a belief (as so develop the inner faith) that you can achieve and will be able to achieve your chosen goal? So whether that goal is to heal yourself of an ailment, or to expand your business or career, or to make a certain amount of money, or to have that amazing holiday – everything needs to come from the origins of an empowering belief.

So, how do we develop an empowering belief that we can do something and in turn develop the inner conviction (the inner faith) that we will achieve it? Here are some proven methodologies I have found helpful:

1. Positively affirm the goal to yourself verbally and with positive emotions many times a day (verbalise and emotionalise)

“I am feeling better & better each day. I am fully recovered”

“Everything I do makes me more & more money”

“Thank you for I am enjoying an amazing holiday with my family and friends”

When you say it, say it with passion and excitement. Mix it with empowering emotions like love, joy, and excitement by thinking of something that brings on that emotion or listening to music in the background that helps you feel good as you are doing your affirmations.

2. Visualisation (visualise) – get a sense or if you can, see the result you want in your mind. Get excited that it has happened. Feel good as you see the outcome you want.

3. Project the outcome to a higher source (prayer).

If you (like me) believe there is a greater source out there that loves you & wants to help you (I call it God, others call it Divine or Grace), then project it out using methods in 1 and 2 and believe that there will be a force or series of coincidences that will come to assist you and help you to strengthen this empowering belief system that will in turn give you the bounce in your step, the conviction in your heart, and the determination in your soul, to go and make it happen in the material world.

You see, it is all about belief. You must believe something if you are to achieve it otherwise it is pointless setting goals without an inner faith growing to help you take the necessary action to bring your faith into physical reality. Hang around people who help strengthen your belief – good people will always motivate you toward your goals.

Make it a point to always seek a way to develop the belief system behind the goal so that you can have that amazing power of inner faith that will give you the inner resources to keep going until you achieve the outcome you desire.

And if you are from Adelaide or in Adelaide, schedule to come along to Breakfast at the Next level where you will hear from people who have achieved amazing things in their life so that you can take home the conviction that you too are great and can achieve what you desire in your heart as well (www.nextlevelbreakfasts.com.au). Always remember the power of one-on-one coaching and mentoring whereby people who get a coach achieve 95% of their annual goals, checkout further information on our website (www.solresultscoaching.com).

BY STAN KONTOS

Did you know one of my greatest inspirational moments was when I read how Benjamin Franklin developed himself to such an incredible world changing level? Do you want to know what he did to become a world leader? Well here is one of the key things he did… he developed his value system. What is a value system? It is a series of emotional states that create behaviours that dictate what we value in life.

So for example, if we say we value our health then logically our behaviours will be to eat healthy, think healthy (minimise stressful thoughts), exercise daily, drink alcohol moderately and have a program for managing our health (prevention is better than cure). Hence, if we say we value health and we display the behaviours as well, then we are living congruently. If we say though that we value something (like health) but do not display the behaviours then we are incongruent and not really serious about our proposed value.

So it is with other things we value in life such as love, family, friends, giving, happiness, wealth creation, leadership, and so the list of values goes on and on.

Benjamin Franklin realised that value systems require daily attention to create habitual behaviours and it would take about a month before a behaviour became permanent – that is a habitual force in one’s personality.

I have been working on my values lately to further strengthen my personality and the last month have focused on a daily basis to ensure I display the following 4 key values each day;

  1. Love & kindness – I always look for ways to make people feel special whether it is buying them a gift, buying them a meal, giving them a helping hand, complimenting them, displaying positive energy toward them and so forth.
  2. Courageous – this past month I have looked for ways to get out of my comfort zone and face any uncertainties “head on”. Items  like undertaking a larger investment than normal (something that stretches me), speaking out and challenging when I think someone is being unfair, or going out of my comfort zone and powerfully addressing problems that have come up.
  3. Encouraging – this may link to number 1 somewhat – always looking for ways to be uplifting to people and getting them to focus on what is possible rather than focus on what is stopping them from achieving things (a very powerful method in my coaching and mentoring)
  4. Generosity – stretching out of my comfort zone in giving larger amounts of money to necessary or needy causes and learning to feel good thinking bigger in this area of my life. Also continually thinking of ways to give money, knowledge or time to everyone I am about to meet or who become attracted into my life.

So what will be the 3-4 key values you will focus on in the next month over the festive season? Will it be happiness, health, abundance, contribution, love, kindness, expansiveness, leadership, or other value systems?

I encourage you to write down 3-4 values and monitor yourself each and every day for a month. Perhaps get someone close to you to give you an honest assessment how you have been going and whether they can see your internal development coming through? And of course always spend time with people who have developed very powerful value systems to learn from them.

Have you ever said to yourself “I wish I knew this when I was younger.” Whilst we cannot turn back the years, we can change our thinking by thinking more into the future and realising what we need to know now to help get us to our goals in life.

A good friend of mine shared with me the following wisdom, “Everything that you are seeking is seeking you”.  What does this mean? Well… what it means is, if we are inspired to have something in life, then if we seek diligently, we will find the way to achieve it and we will grow as a person on the journey of attaining this goal. There is always someone who has done what you want to do. There is always someone who can shift your thinking which will then propagate you in the direction of your goals and dreams. Your role is to find this someone.

What is required of you is to recognise the impact of a conversation, the effect of a series of conversations, or the change a relationship will have on your future.

Who you associate with on a consistent basis is who you become most like. That’s right… “You cannot fly like an eagle if you surround yourself with turkeys” is a wisdom another good friend of mine told me many decades ago (it actually made me laugh the first time I heard this).

So, if there is something you want to bring into your life in the next 1, 3 or 5 years, who do you need in your life today to assist you to get there? Who do you need to become to be worthy of this goal? What do you need to learn to give you the knowledge and confidence to achieve this?

One of my many passions in life is “coaching (mindset development) and mentoring (sharing strategies and contacts)” and after having coached hundreds of business and career oriented people over decades I do know one thing: “What you think about and take action with, on a daily basis, is who you become and what you bring into your life.” And in order to think constructively on a daily basis, you need to have the right people in your life. This is the secret to all success.

So as we approach the end of this year and the beginning of a new year 2018, what will you do differently next year to assure you of creating a worthy year? How will you make 2018 a great year?

My friends, life is a gift and you can never turn back the clock. Proper planning, preparation and people will help you yield the life you desire and deserve.

Come along to the next breakfast and be inspired with Dr Barry Kirby http://www.nextlevelbreakfasts.com.au/

Make a decision today to make 2018 an amazing year very different to 2017. And make the decision to bring in the resources (books, people, and coach/mentor) that will guarantee an outstanding year for you and your family.

Who you hang around with the most, and who you listen to intently, you will then become most like in that area of life. We have had many amazing guests interviewed at our breakfast event (www.nextlevelbreakfasts.com.au) and we all learn so much from each amazing leader.

One person, the leader in the tiling industry in Australia Bob Beaumont (from Beaumont Tiles) once said to me “Stan, don’t dream big….dream huge!” You see Bob has become the number 1 tiling retailer in the country and continues to grow with aspirations to become number 1 in the world. WOW that’s a BIG goal indeed!  I like hanging out with Bob because he thinks differently and that excites me to also think this way too.

And so I pass this inspirational way of thinking to you too…are you thinking big? And if you are, how about going to the next level and think huge!

You probably have the book “As A Man Thinketh” by James Allen (if you come along to the breakfast, we have them there for you) and in this amazing book it says that our lives (and businesses) are a direct reflection of our thinking. The bigger we think about any area of our life, the more we will move toward that thought. Yes we become what we think about most of the time.

Are you thinking HUGE when it comes to your business or career? Are you thinking HUGE when it comes to your finances? And what about your leisure activities, your health optimisation, and your relationships? It is so important to think huge in every area of your life.

When we think huge, we get inspired…we get excited…and so we begin to think and act differently that when we were thinking only big.

Yes my friends, when we think the way our Creator intended us to think, then we get his inspiration flowing through us. Think huge and you will feel better, you will get excited every morning when you get out of bed, and you will live longer because you are excited about the prospects of life.

So what can you think huge about today? Go set yourself a BHAG (big hairy audacious goal) and begin working on it each day and watch how your world unfolds.

Always think huge.

And to help you think huge, if you live in SA and can be up early come along to see Francis Wong (Managing Director of Encounter Australia) being interviewed at the next breakfast event http://www.nextlevelbreakfasts.com.au

Have a wonderful day, a great week, and a HUGE month!

Have you ever wondered what is the motivation behind excellence? Why do some people seem to win at everything?  Well I have the answer for you!

People who desire excellence have a belief system that is along this line “I just want to be the best version of myself that I can possibly be. If I do my best, I feel good”. It is as simple as that. It is a wonderful thing to develop a belief to “be the best I can possibly be” as it means you now never compare yourself to anyone else ever!  Most people think to be excellent they need to believe “I must be better than him/her”.  But it is this latter belief that creates eventual dissatisfaction because there will always be someone better than you or at what you do. Just think about it….if you wanted to be wealthy and measured your self worth against your wealth then at some stage you will meet or think of someone who is wealthier and you may feel like a failure. This is not good. But if you believe that you will do your very best always with building your wealth and you observe incremental progress, then you will feel good about yourself. And you should feel good about yourself!

Excellence my friends is about continual and never ending improvement in who you become. It is about finding better ways, newer ways, and more fulfilling ways to continually improve in every area of your life. So if you desire to become healthy, don’t stop at just modifying your food intake. Move into organic produce, design a custom made supplements program that will support any genetic issues in your history, extend exercises to involve cardio, strength and stretching components, seek ways to slow aging, learn about meditation and its effect on your quality and quantity of life, and read up to date books on making your health optimal.

There is always a way to do better. Start enjoying being a student of life and put your knowledge into action.  From consistent action, you will become better and better and better in everything you put your heart and soul into.

One way you can grow your thinking capacity is to come to Breakfast at the Next Level (www.nextlevelbreakfasts.com.au) each month and learn from highly respected leaders how they achieved excellence in one or more areas of their life. What a privilege it is for each of us to learn from other amazing people. And it is here in Adelaide wow!

Our Platinum Program (this is our one to one coaching and mentoring program) has some amazing people who all desire to become a better version of themselves – they know that excellence is the knowledge you have, the people you choose in your environment (including your coach) and the action you take towards creating the transformation that is waiting inside you to happen.

Live with passion, stay on your life purpose and always be at peace.

I wish you always the very best.

One of the greatest learnings that I continue to make in life and business is the incredible value of continuing to give my best in having an open mind. Like all of us, we all believe we are open minded however did you know that to be good at this, one needs to practice and exercise their mind daily?

What truly makes a mind open is the question one asks immediately after being presented with a statement  together with the ability not to place judgement on another human being’s perspective. This as we know sounds easier than it is in practice.  One of the greatest wisdoms I have ever heard is “Thou shalt not judge”. This wisdom although thousands of years in the making is still relevant today. But what exactly does it mean and how is it related to having an open mind?

If someone comes to you and says “I’ve been through a relationship breakdown and you know what –  you cannot trust anyone in this world”. Would you allow their perspective to affect your model of the world (how you see things)?  Or would you ask an internal open ended  question to yourself and keep your mind open such as “Isn’t that interesting. I’d like to learn more about this human being’s life experience.” You see, it is only by asking an open ended question such as this that you truly do not place judgement on this person’s perspective but rather begin to adopt an inquisitive approach eager to learn more and perhaps in turn being of assistance to them.

And what if you met someone who came up to you and stated  “I earn $10,000 per hour whenever I want to make more money and find it easy to do so”. How would you internally react in thought to this statement?  Would it be with an open mind such as “Isn’t that incredible?  Wouldn’t that be a wonderful skill to learn too?”.

When you keep your mind open in every situation whether in life or business, you will learn more, you will be more at peace with your inner self, and you will be getting the maximum value from the journey of life.

So what simple exercise can we all do today to take our life to another level in open mindedness? The simplest one thing that we can do which if we did on a consistent basis all day long is say an affirmation to ourselves that will then guide our mind to becoming what we are saying. Now of course, you may choose any affirmation that works for you to help you keep an open mind during each day – here is one that I believe will do the job:

“Every day, in every way, I look at every situation and say to myself  Isn’t that interesting?  What do I need to learn of value from this?”

The above statement, quietly muttered to oneself throughout the day (100’s of times) will result in you conditioning your mind to respond differently and you will begin to see more how life works and the many opportunities you have to learn, grow, add value and be more at peace.

One of the greatest privileges I have is the opportunity to interview great people every month at our breakfast event (http://www.nextlevelbreakfasts.com.au/) and this month will be with a great (Swedish) thinker Goran Roos. I am sure he will help us all to completely see things differently in how the world is evolving,  what innovations are on the horizon, and where the opportunities are for the future for all of us.  I encourage you to come along on Wednesday August 9th.

Remember that with your thoughts you create your world. And with your questions you create your emotions and the direction of your life.

Live with passion, stay on your life’s purpose, and always be at peace.

Do you remember your very first job?  More importantly, do you remember your attitude toward your very first job?

I remember my very first full time job when I was just  21 years of age. My attitude (I am not proud to say) was not good as it was all about me…yes I started off quit selfish!  Please let me explain. I was one of those employees that started exactly 9am (I thought hey I don’t get paid anymore so why should I come in early?) , I had to have all  my allocated breaks even if there were customers waiting and I would finish exactly 5.00pm (even if there was work to be finished). I would take all my personal leave in the year  (back then we called them “sickies”) even though I was not unwell (I felt like having a day off) – it was all about getting my benefits….all about me 100% (a sense of entitlement). It was a stark contrast to the way I think now!

I remember even getting fired from one of my part time jobs because I was not showing enough care for my boss’ small business. And to tell you the truth, I deserved it!

Thank goodness it all changed when I met Mr DG – he taught me the importance of enjoying work by giving to others and he taught me how to think like someone who wants to go onto the road in becoming successful (the path I was originally on would have led me down the path of poverty I am sure). Mr DG was a wealthy small businessman and he showed me by his leadership to “give more than you get paid for Stan and you will become more & more valuable and opportunities will come your way as a result”.  Become selfless and not selfish and you will succeed.

I really began to take an attitude of gratitude  to heart (I began to feel so grateful that I had a job, that I could serve others, that I could save money, that I could be an important person in the community and that my co-workers could be proud of me). Watching the way Mr DG treated everyone inspired me to do better and so I began coming to work early (I’d start 7:30am – 8:00am even though I wasn’t getting paid until 9:00am) and I’d finish after I was meant to finish the day (in fact I remember Mr DG popping into his business and seeing me still there and saying “Hey Stan, C’mon you better go home son”) . I began to treat his business like my own and genuinely wanted him to succeed. I would do home deliveries after I finished my work shift and not tell him as I didn’t want any petrol money. I loved the grateful look in customers eyes when I did them a favour and dropped their goods to their home because they were too old or unwell to come out. And I never took a sick day in 3.5 years I was there (Admittedly some days I needed some strong cold & flu tabs to get me through ha ha).

I began finding more & more ways to grow the business and in  fact when I departed on good terms some  3.5 years later, I was integral in growing the business significantly.
It was around 3 years into my employment that I decided I wanted to get into small business ownership and I had multiple people approach me wanting to go into business with me.  I had very little money,  a mortgage in Para Hills, and no real business knowledge –  however from my results I now  had many people wanting me as their business partner. I had developed a good reputation and the ability to work hard and create results. Looking back, it was inevitable that good things would come.  Good things come to those that work hard – the harder you work, the luckier you get!

So what is your attitude with your career progression?  Is it all about you (selfish), or do you genuinely look for ways to do more than you get paid for (selfless)?  If you are in business or want to get into business, have you developed the attitude to create more for your business partner(s) and for your employees? Are you excited with the privilege of serving customers and making them happy?  You see when one appreciates the gift of a job, the gift of a small business, the gift of having a profession, and the gift of serving people, then this attitude is absolute magic!  It is now not about how much money you make per hour, but more about the value you bring to the hour. When you bring more value to the hour, you naturally via the law of attraction bring more opportunities and good to your life.

Come and see some amazing people who have learnt and applied these remarkable secrets at our breakfast event (http://www.nextlevelbreakfasts.com.au/) each month and you will be inspired to become a great leader too. We are all created equal and at such all have the ability to become great at whatever we are doing as our job, business or profession. Once we become great, we will always make more money because we become invaluable to our employer and customers.

Live with passion, stay on your life’s purpose, and be at peace.

I have discovered that, as with everything good,   success always leaves clues.   We all know that wealth can only be achieved when money is made to work for you, and not you for money. Now I know that at some stage in all our lives, we must work to make money (either through a job or through a small business). For some, money becomes their master (they have to keep working). For others, money becomes their servant (money works for them). How is this difference so?

The secret formula is earn money, then save money, then invest and multiply the money. Sounds simple –  this is the truth.

A long time ago when I was working and being paid by the hour I discovered that it didn’t really matter how much money I got paid per hour if I didn’t know how to budget and create savings. What I discovered about my human nature was that the more I earnt per hour, the more I spent (it happened subconsciously – having a more expensive car, going out to eat more often at restaurants, finding more ways to spend my hard earned money on clothing, travel, and so forth). Similarly, I have noticed in others that when they earn more money per hour they don’t necessarily save this pay increase because it subconsciously gets spent. I am fortunate to have the responsibility of coordinating the employment of many people in my organisations and I see their frustration when as they earn more it doesn’t translate into more savings. Hence I am passionate about educating people to learn the secrets to wealth creation, including my own staff.

Here is a very important question that will help you determine how you are programed – are you programmed for wealth creation?

Q: What is more important to you – to get a higher hourly rate or to get the knowledge of how to create more money even if it means working at a slightly lower hourly rate?

A: Knowledge is more important than money.

Over 10 years ago, I recall deciding to find a way to be in the company of someone who was very successful. I found a way to invest in their business and in doing so was fortunate to be able to spend 3-4 days per month (yes I had to fly interstate once a month to attend to my business responsibilities all at my own personal cost) so I could spend time with this person and educate myself on business and wealth creation. My method over the years has been to always find people better than me and to spend time with them. I take copious amounts of notes and learn their secrets. Then  I apply this knowledge helping myself and in turn helping others in my environment. The secret is when you acquire knowledge to help yourself and you help others, you will always make more money.

As a Performance Coach (and having coached many hundreds of people over the years) , I have observed from experience that one of the biggest issues in our society is a lack of sufficient money to live abundantly. I believe that every one of us was meant to enjoy abundance – it is a universal law that we are meant to live joyfully. The 3% of our population that get to understand the laws of abundance are the ones who have sought   the knowledge and applied it for the benefit of others as well as themselves.

I encourage you to become one of that 3% today. Go and acquire new knowledge (perhaps come along to our breakfast event http://www.nextlevelbreakfasts.com.au/). Whilst it is good to find ways to earn more money per hour, it is far more important to learn to budget and create savings, and to then multiply these savings from wise investments. These wise investments over a 10 year period become your ticket to financial freedom – the choice of having to work vs wanting to work.  Financial freedom is a desire we all have for it gives us the choice to live the way that makes us joyful as well as the ability to help others.

I wish you abundance always. If you wish to learn more about our coaching program (Platinum Program http://www.solresultscoaching.com/), designed to assist you to obtain the mindset and the strategies to create more in your life, we would be happy to let you know more.

Live with passion, stay on your life’s purpose, and always be at peace.

I am sure we have all heard the statement  “jack of all trades and master of none”. This wisdom was created to demonstrate the importance of being aware not to “skim over” new skillsets that you wish to acquire but rather to spend lots of time and energy becoming a person of excellence in all you do.

You see, the person who decides to take on a skillset to get a result in any area of life, and invests the correct amount of time and energy, ultimately  achieves the results – studies have shown 5,000 to 10,000 hours are required to becoming an outstanding expert  individual in your chosen career   (becoming outstanding is “standing out” rather than being average).

Over the years I have met many people who do course after course (seminar after seminar) thinking that just by doing a course this will make them significantly better in a topic (for example property investment). How many people do you know that do wealth course after  wealth course hoping to make more money and create more wealth but they never do?  Please understand I certainly am a big advocate of education and as such doing a course is very important – it becomes the foundation of a change in mindset and the adoption of new strategies to achieve the goal you have set. However, one also needs to keep doing courses, keep reading books, keep finding like minded people who actually have succeeded to hang around with & learn from (such as the guests who come on our Breakfast at the Next Level  www.nextlevelbreakfasts.com.au), and to apply this knowledge in the form of action (hence the importance of having a Performance Coach to keep one totally accountable).

So are you one of those people that will do “whatever it takes” (ethically and morally of course) to achieve your career or finance goal?  If it was so easy everyone would be able to achieve it and that is exactly the truth – it is not easy…growth is never easy but it is totally worth it. Once you grow into the person you need to become to achieve the goal, then you will will never go back to the person you were…you are now a new exciting creation…a better version of you than before!

I have studied successful people for decades and time and time again I see one common characteristic – they choose their goal then they focus like a laser beam until they achieve it. Where you focus your mind is where you get results. What is amazing is that I believe we rarely ever use more than 10% of the capacity of our brains during our life which means we all have incredible capacity to create magnificient results in our life if we will just focus focus focus.

If you are frustrated and want to have an advancement in your career or to create expanding wealth and income, then decide today that you will become a person who will do whateveer it takes (time perhaps to get a Performance Coach to get you there) and that you will focus your energy and time to excelling. Persist persist persist and you will get to your destination in life.

I have a number of coaching clients in our Platinum Program because I enjoy seeing people achieve success in their lives. I want to wish you always more and more abundance, provision and success in your life. For I know that if I can have you lead a better life, then you will impact those around you in a positive way.

Until next month, live with passion, stay on your life purpose and always be a person of peace.
